Delete your FilmScout Studio account

FilmScout Studio respects your right to control your data. If you no longer want to use FilmScout Studio, you can request permanent deletion of your account and all data associated with it.
How to request deletion
- Send an email to support@filmscout.studio with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
- Include the email address used to register your FilmScout Studio account. This is how we verify your identity and locate your records.
- Optionally, tell us why you're leaving — it's not required and won't slow the process, but it helps us improve.
What happens after we receive your request
We will acknowledge your request by email within 2 business days. Your account and the data listed below will be permanently deleted within 30 days of acknowledgement. You'll receive a final confirmation email once deletion is complete.
What we delete
When you request account deletion, we permanently delete:
- Your account record — email address, name, company, and any profile fields you entered
- All scout sessions you created — location names, addresses, GPS coordinates, timestamps, and statuses
- All media you uploaded — photos, video frames, audio recordings, and thumbnails
- All notes, checklists, location details, parking markers, and other content you produced
- Your subscription / tier record in our database (see note below about cancelling billing)
- Any device tokens registered for push notifications
What we may retain
For legal, security, and operational reasons, a small amount of data may be kept after deletion:
- Authentication logs for up to 30 days, to investigate abuse or security incidents
- Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics (e.g. "total scout sessions created this month") that cannot be linked back to your identity
- Records we are legally required to retain (for example, tax or billing records for completed purchases)
Retained data does not contain personally identifying information that ties back to your account.
Cancelling subscriptions
In-app subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple App Store or Google Play — not by FilmScout Studio directly. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. To cancel:
- iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → FilmScout Studio → Cancel
- Android: Play Store → menu → Subscriptions → FilmScout Studio → Cancel
Please cancel your subscription before requesting account deletion to avoid future charges.
